Due to the age of the Android operating system installed on this device, this system uses a custom stand-alone installer file. Make sure to only use the APK file provided in this guide for the Philips 10BDL3051T/02 display.
This guide was written for firmware version v4.05. This is the latest version available and a recommended update.
Prerequisites
- A factory formatted Philips 10BDL3051T/02 display device. If you need to factory reset a device, do the following:
- Using the Settings key shortcut, hold down Power (right-side top) button, then press the volume down (right-side lowest) button. Tap the 'Password' box and enter '1234' and tap the 'Ok' button.
- Select 'Settings' > 'System Tools'.
- Select the 'Factory Reset' button in the right side pane, and then again 'Factory Reset' to complete.

- In the 'Signage Display Settings' select the 'Skip' button.
- In the 'Clone Media Files into internal' select the 'Skip' button.
- Finally, at the 'Setup Complete!' message, tap 'Finish'.
Installing the Morbit Door Panel application

- Select 'app-release.apk' and choose 'Open'. On the message prompt, select 'Install'.

Final tasks for completion
These devices need to have a couple of jobs completed once the application is installed, these are:
- How to get back into the Settings screen
- Set the correct time zone.
- Set the Morbit Door Panel application to be the default launched application (in case of power outage or device reboot).
- (Optional) Schedule reboots
How to get into the Settings screen
Place 2 fingers onto the screen, and this will initiate a displayed 3 second count down. Keep holding for those 3 seconds, then the Settings screen will appear.
Setting the correct time zone
In the Settings screen, tap the 'System Settings' button (you may need to hide the keyboard using the down symbol at the bottom of the screen). Navigate to and tap the 'System' menu on the left (scroll down to near the bottom). Tap 'Date & Time' on the right pane. From here set your correct time zone.
Set as the default launch application
In the Settings screen, navigate to and tap the 'Signage Display' menu on the left pane. In the right pane, scroll to the 'Boot on Source' section and tap it. Select the 'Input' section and select 'Custom app' from the pop-up menu.
Once again, select the 'Signage Display' menu on the left pane, but this time scroll to the 'Custom App' section. Tap it, then select 'Select App'. In the pop-up option, select 'Morbit Door Panel (Legacy)', the press 'Save'. Select the 'Backup' icon at the bottom of the 'System Settings' application and keep tapping that until you return to the Door Panel application. Tapping 'Close' will return you to the main screen.
You may also reboot the device to validate the door panel application will launch on reboot.
Schedule reboots
In order to keep the device functioning well, it can sometimes be beneficial to set a reboot schedule to help maintain the performance of the display. In the Settings screen, navigate to and tap the 'Signage Display' menu on the left pane. In the right pane, scroll to the 'Schedule' section and tap it. In here you can select the schedule that works for you. Make sure to Enable it once set up.
