If you need to factory reset the device, follow these instructions otherwise skip to the next section 'Setting up for installation':

  1. Using the Settings key shortcut, hold down Power (right-side top) button, then press the volume down (right-side lowest) button. Tap the 'Password' box and enter '1234' and tap the 'Ok' button.
  2. Select 'Settings' > 'Signage Display' > 'System Tools'.
  3. Select the 'Factory Reset' button, and then again 'Factory Reset' to complete.

Setting up for installation

  1. Obtain a USB-A key formatted to the FAT32 file system (requires only 10MB of space)
  2. Download the Android installed file from here: https://morbit-files.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/app-release.apk
  3. Copy the file to the USB key, then eject it from your computer. Do not insert it to the Philips device until instructed later.

Turn the device on and follow these menus:

  • Welcome Screen
    • Select preferred language and tap 'Start'
  • Date & Time
    • Select preferred settings, recommend to set 'Automatic date & time' to be 'Enable' for your time zone and tap 'Next'
  • Clone Media Files into Internal
    • Tap 'Skip'
  • Signage Display Settings
    • Select 'Manual Setup', tap 'Next'
  • Signage Display Name
    • Enter a name for your device (or accept the default provided) and tap 'Next'.
  • Remote Control
    • Leave as 'Disable' and tap 'Next'
  • Security Setting
    • Do not untick 'SICP Network Port' as this is required for LED enablement and colour control.
    • Check the box for 'Unknown Sources Installation' and tap 'Next' and leave others options as default. Tap 'Next'
  • Network Setting
    • Select the option that works for you and complete any additional prompts to network the device.
  • Setup Complete!
    • Tap 'Finish'
  • Wave PPDS screen
    • Tap 'Skip' option

  1. The screen will go black, but using the Settings key shortcut, hold down Power (right-side top) button, then press the volume down (right-side lowest) button. Tap the 'Password' box and enter '1234' and tap the 'Ok' button.
  2. Install the USB key with the APK file on it at the rear of the device.
  3. Tap 'Storage' and select the USB device just inserted. Navigate to the APK file and tap select it. Choose 'Open', then 'Install'. When the 'App installed' message appears, select 'Open'. You can now remove the USB key as it will not be needed again.
  4. The app Settings page load. Enter your Door Panel ID (this IS case-sensitive) - obtained from within the platform - Smart Building > Door Panels. The 6-digit ID is listed in the row of each entry. Once the Door Panel ID is added, minimise the on-screen keyboard and then click 'Save Settings' to finish the app configuration.
  5. To get back into the app Settings, tap two fingers on the screen at the same time. Click 'Save Settings' to return to the application. You can also use this method to get into the 'System Settings' menu by tapping the 'System Settings' button.
  6. To finalise the installation, go into the 'System Settings' menu as described above, and select 'Signage Display', then 'Source settings', and then 'Custom app'. Tap 'Select app' and select 'morbit' and tap 'Save'.
  7. Navigate backup to the main 'Storage Display' menu, and choose 'General settings', then select 'Boot on source'. Tap 'Input and select 'Custom app'. This will ensure that even after power loss the device will load the Door Panel app every time.
  8. To reload the Door Panel app, simply tap the Apps menu on the left and select 'morbit'. Tap the option to 'Open' the app, and select the 'Save Settings' button to return to the main panel screen.

Note: The Philips Display doesn't support LED brightness changes, and only has one brightness setting.

Large deployments of door panels

For large deployments, you can export the 'Signage Display Settings' to a USB device for quick import onto other devices. To do this you can follow these steps:

  1. In 'System Settings', navigate to 'Signage Display', then 'System Tools'.
  2. Insert your USB key again (or another formatted as FAT32).
  3. In the 'Import & Export' section, tap 'Export Signage Display Settings'. This will take a few minutes to export.
  4. Once completed, move to your next device to deploy (these instructions are assuming it's at a factory reset state) and run through the initial set up screens as directed above, but stop at the 'Signage Display Settings' page.
  5. This time, insert your USB key and select the option to 'Import Signage Display Settings for USB' and press 'Select'.
  6. All being well (if not, follow the manual Setup instructions again), you will be presented with a 'Setup Complete!' screen. Click 'Finish'.
  7. (For Wi-Fi users) When presented with you app Settings page, if you are using Wi-Fi for network connectivity you MUST click 'System Settings' to complete the Wi-Fi setup before adding in the Door Panel ID.
  8. (For Wi-Fi users) Select the 'Network & internet' menu and successfully complete the Wi-Fi networking.
  9. Select 'Apps' on the left menu, then 'morbit'. Tap 'Open' and finish by adding the 'Door Panel ID' and selecting 'Save Settings'.
