Disruptive Technologies have a range of small sensors that can be deployed in a location to collect environmental and motion data. This platform currently supports the following sensor types:
- Motion
- CO2
- Desk Occupancy
- Temperature
To integrate Disruptive Technologies sensors into the platform you will need to ensure the following requirements are met:
- You have an account in their Studio product with sensors already registered.
- Your account in morbit studio is 'Smart Building' enabled. If not (or to check), turn it on via System > Configuration > "Your Organisation". Edit the properties of your organisation and tick the 'Enable Smart Buildings' option. Click Save, then log out and back in again to see the changes.
Create an API Integration in DT Studio
- Log into DT Studio at: https://studio.disruptive-technologies.com/
- In the left menu, navigate to 'API Integrations', and select 'Service Accounts'.
- Click 'Create New Service Account'
- In the 'Service Account Name' field add a suitable description, then click 'Add'.
- In the updated screen, select 'Project User', and tick the 'Enable Basic Auth' box.
- In the 'Active Keys' section, click the 'Create New' button. A 'Created Key Details' pop-up screen will be presented.
- Take a copy of both the 'Key ID' and 'Secret' values. The 'Secret' value will not be viewable again after this screen.
- Finally, you will need to know your 'Project ID' in DT Studio. This is the 20-digit alphanumeric value displayed in the URL path of DT Studio after the /projects/ path. For example, https://studio.disruptive-technologies.com/projects/d05jg976kecc11d6ljb8/ would have a Project ID of: d05jg976kecc11d6ljb8
Once you have values for Project ID, Key ID and Secret, you can proceed to the next stage of the integration.
Create a new Sensor Cloud
- In morbit studio, got to System > Configuration > "Your Organisation".
- In the right side of the screen, go to the 'Sensor Clouds' section, and click the 'New Sensor Cloud' button.
- Give the sensor cloud a 'Description', and select 'Type' as 'Disruptive Technologies'.
- Add in the details from the last section for Project ID, Key ID and Secret. Click 'Save' to complete the integration.
The import of the sensors may take a couple of minutes and you can check the integration via the 'Sensor Clouds' section and clicking the 'Refresh' button. You will see the total sensors added as a number in the 'Sensors' column.
For details on the API integration status, you can click the integration name in 'Sensor Clouds' and it will open the details page.
At the bottom of this window, you can review the last successful and failed API checks.
Assign sensors to Rooms
To assign the sensors to their relevant Rooms, follow the same process described in the Administrator Guide detailed here. The sensors will be listed as 'Unallocated Assets' and should be assigned using the method described for a Room asset.
