TABLE OF CONTENTS

Issue: 'Graph Delegate Access: Failed'

This problem will show itself like this during set up when running the Connection > Test All feature:

Typically, this means there is an error with the account being used.  It’s likely one of the following issues:

  1. The account has a configuration process to complete before it can be used
  2. The account username or password is wrong
  3. The account has MFA enabled

The recommended troubleshooting steps follow based on their issue number above.

Solution #1 – complete the account sign-up process

Complete the following steps to ensure that this is not the issue:

  1. Login into https://portal.office.com using the Username and Password allocated for morbit studio in the ‘Microsoft Teams Tenant Details’ within the Organisation settings.
  2. If this is an issue, upon logging in you will be presented with this prompt for further account information:
  3. Click ‘Next’ to complete the requirements.
  4. Re-test the connection in the Connection menu by clicking Test All.
  5. If this has resolved the issue, you will see a connection test with Status OK from all the check areas. If not, proceed with the Solution #2 below.

Solution #2 – check for typos

It’s possible that the Username and Password fields may contain a typo. Validate that those details are correct in the General section of the ‘Microsoft Teams Tenant Details’ within the Organisation settings. If you’ve not completed Solution #1 above, please do so to check that the username and password combination is correct.

  1. If there was a typo, re-test the connection in the Connection menu by clicking Test All.
  2. If this has resolved the issue, you will see a connection test with Status OK from all the check areas. If not, proceed with the Solution #3 below.

Solution #3 – disable MFA

Note: Further security information on ‘Why Modern Authentication is Better than MFA for Microsoft Service Accounts’ is provided in this article in the FAQ section of this Knowledge base..

  1. To disable multi-factor authentication (MFA) for a service account in Microsoft 365, you need to sign in with an account that has tenant Global administrator permissions.
  2. Login to the Microsoft 365 admin center (https://admin.microsoft.com)and select Users > Active users.
  3. Click on Multi-factor authentication or Manage multifactor authentication to see a list of users and their MFA status. You can disable MFA for the service account by selecting the checkbox next to their name and clicking on Disable. You may need to confirm your action by pressing Yes.
  4. Head back to morbit studio and re-test the connection in the Connection menu by clicking Test All.
  5. If this has resolved the issue, you will see a connection test with Status OK from all the check areas. If not, log a support ticket with your application provider.
    1. Note – it may take a few minutes for the disabling of MFA to come into effect.
